Everton will have a ‘physical advantage’ over Manchester United going into their meeting at Goodison Park this weekend, says Carlo Ancelotti. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side travelled to Turkey on Wednesday night as they were beaten 2-1 by Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League. And the Red Devils have been left with little time to prepare for their next game against the Toffees at 12.30pm on Saturday.
United go into the Everton clash having suffered back-to-back defeats
After suffering back-to-back defeats against Arsenal and Basaksehir, United will be looking to bounce back against Everton.
However, Ancelotti believes his side will have the edge over their opponents from a physical perspective given their hectic schedule. ‘It can be an advantage,’ the Everton boss said. ‘As I said before, the top teams have a really, really big schedule so it is really difficult for them.
So we can take advantage of this on a physical aspect, above all. ‘But I think we did better when we had games every three days.
‘But from a physical point of view, we have an advantage for sure.’
